The 2008 KB4C is officially scheduled for Saturday, August 9 with a backup day for wind set for Sunday, August 10. This year brings more prizes, more silent auction items, and a world-premier kiteboarding event as part of the day: The KB4C Kiteboarding Long Jump. If you couldn’t make it last year, be sure not to miss this amazing event in 2008!
The John Wayne Cancer Foundation is partnering with KB4C this year as our primary charity sponsor, providing fundraising athletes with JWCF Team Duke packets (JWCF tee shirt, baseball cap, and sunscreen) and support to KB4C. We are thrilled to have JWCF involved! Last year, JWCF was one of our beneficiary organizations. Their enthusiasm for the health and energy contributions of the action sports community to give to the cause of cancer was so powerful that we’re doing it again with JWCF!
Celilo Cancer Center in The Dalles, Oregon is another 2008 partner and beneficiary of KB4C. Celilo is an amazing cancer care facility that offers cancer patients and their families healing opportunities for the body, mind and soul. It’s beautiful state-of-the-art facility provides a home away from home, offering hope, solace and strength through some of the world’s most time-honored healing arts. With Celilo, cancer patients throughout the region have access to comprehensive chemotherapy treatment and to radiation therapy that is near home. They also employ the latest in cancer treatment technology and some of the nation’s top oncology professionals.
