Big changes and exciting times at KB4C, Athletes for Cancer

Big things are happening at KB4C! Our little fundraiser in 2007  has evolved in a very big way to embrace more people passionate for doing what they already love to benefit lives affected by cancer. Thank you to everyone who has supported Kiteboarding 4 Cancer in recent years. The KB4C event will still go on just like it has every year!   Here’s what’s new:

  1. Athletes for Cancer: We changed the organization name to expand our reach beyond kiteboarding to embrace the many passionate outdoors people doing something active for the cause.
  2. Survivorship Adenture Camps: This is our own cancer retreat program for young adults with cancer. We may add other specific survivor groups in the future as well (breast cancer, 40-50 yrs, etc) These adventure camps serve to help survivors gain confidence and strengthen self-esteem as they face life after cancer.
  3. The Tenacity Games: We are bringing all of our sports (Kite, SUP, and now Skate, Kayak) under one event name – The Tenacity Games. This just makes sense, and all events will raise funds for partnering beneficiaries plus Athletes 4 Cancer.

The 2011 Tenacity Games (which includes Kiteboarding 4 Cancer, Skate 4 Cancer, Kayak 4 Cancer, and SUP 4 Cancer)  is July 8-10th in Hood River, Oregon.

July 8-9: SUP 4 Cancer @ The Waterfront Park
July 9-10: Kiteboarding 4 Cancer @ Hood River Event Site
July 9-10: Skate 4 Cancer @ Hood River Event Site
July 10: Kayak 4 Cancer @ location TBD

All athlete fundraising will benefit various cancer programs:

Kiteboarding 4 Cancer & SUP 4 Cancer: benefits Athletes for Cancer Survivor Adventure Camps.

Skate 4 Cancer: benefits Grind for Life

Kayak 4 Cancer: benefits First Descents
