The Tenacity Games & our summer event campaign raised over $100,000 for our Survivorship and Prevention programs in the fight against cancer! Tenacity Games beneficiaries include John Wayne Cancer Foundation, The Next Door Inc., The Pacific Cancer Foundation, Children’s Healing Art Project, and Athletes for Cancer’s Survivorship Program.
Mother nature once again provided 3 perfect days for this annual event, which has become a lucky pattern over the last five years of this event. The Gorge is great like that — it produces ideal conditions when you put on an event for the right purpose. I have to admit, however, that we do carefully select the second weekend in July as the Tenacity Games week for it’s consistent history of great weather.
The turnout for the Tenacity Games was incredible once again. Each year at this event, I’m amazed by how far people travel to participate and just be at the event. When cancer touches each of us, there are no limits or distance to travel to doing something about it. I met visitors from Australia, Iceland, New York, Florida, Saskatchewan, and Korea. They all came for the same purpose — to be a part of a unique event unlike any other to fight cancer.
Check out the photos from five talented photographers on our SmugMug website where the proceeds from your printed photo purchase goes back to Athletes for Cancer. Thank you to our photographers for documenting this incredible event!
