Kiteboard 4 Cancer is North America’s largest amateur kiteboarding event, raising money through athlete fundraising and registration for Project Koru’s Survivorship Program.
KB4C takes place in beautiful Hood River, Oregon, comprising of a 6-hour endurance kiteboarding race — The Kite Derby — that challenges the physical strength, determination, and tenacity of each athlete involved.
The theme of the event is to take on a unique challenge to the point of exhaustion that embodies what someone battling cancer faces every day. Competitors in past Kiteboard 4 Cancer events have claimed the Kite Derby to be equivalent to running a marathon. Endurance training is recommended if you plan to kiteboard the entire six hours.
Kiteboarders compete as individuals and in teams for the bragging rights and prizes of being the Kiteboarding 4 Cancer champion. Learn more at KB4C.org.
